    We work with the people who run camp kitchens and with the recruiters hiring for them. Your profile goes to the ones looking for your role for the coming season.

  3. 03

    The camp interviews you and hires you

    You talk to the camp directly. If it is a match, the camp and its visa sponsor take you through the paperwork, the embassy interview and your travel dates.

We are not a visa sponsor and we are not an agency. We do not charge you, and our part ends once the right camp is talking to you.

Who can apply

Four things the program requires. Check them before you write to us.

Kitchen jobs at U.S. camps run on the J-1 Summer Work Travel program. Those rules come from the program, not from us — and no camp can hire around them.

  • You are a university student

    Enrolled full time now, and going back to your studies after the summer. This is a requirement of the program, not a preference of ours.

  • Your break covers the U.S. summer

    Camp season runs from June into late August. Your official university break has to overlap it — which works for most of the northern hemisphere.

  • You can hold a conversation in English

    The kitchen runs in English. You do not need to be fluent — you need to follow a prep list and speak up when something is wrong.

  • You can stay for the whole season

    Camps hire for roughly 9 to 11 weeks. Leaving halfway through is the one thing a kitchen director cannot work around.

  • Age limits and eligible countries depend on the sponsor your camp works with. If you are not sure whether you qualify, send your CV anyway — we will tell you straight instead of leaving you guessing.
